this is my visual interpretation of this song. It is also my first time using movie maker, so it is pretty simple... images and music. Lyrics: Oh my broken lamb
I worry when you cry
Baby's gonna fetch ya
Horses in the sky

Though dead hands ring the garden
And these are violent times
And violence brings more violence
And liars bring more lies

Though we was born defeated
Worried, tired and scared
And monsters build mean robots
Launching rockets into the air

And the wealth of our nations
Fed on angel blood
And our cities shot with moneyed schemes
Built on twigs and mud

And our schools look like prisons
And our prisons look like malls
And downtown's just a sick parade
Where no-one cares at all

And our hero's all died crazy
Broken, poor or shot
Let's celebrate their tragedy
And sanctify the loss

And manifest the daydream
Like those who fell before
And glorify our small attempts
And hate ourselves no more

Blow words between these sucker's teeth
And bind these panicked hands
Lose your heart like a clumsy bell
Please be well

And all I true love
Is the light
In my sister's darling eyes

adendum: a freind suggested that i put up the names of the "fallen heroes" so here they are: Bill Hicks, Herman Hesse, Wilhelm Reich, William Cooper, Princess Diana, John and Robert Kennedy, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, and finally the Vietnamese monk who layed down his own life in protest of what was happening to his people.

  • Very strong images. Very well done!

  • @McDjB1 Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :-)

  • this is fucking stupid. also, the song is hopeful, which this isn't.

  • @oetpay did you watch it the clip to the end? Yes it starts heavy, but I feel that innocent lives being sacrificed in the name of the Holy Dollar is a dire situation, one that my clumsy interpretation of a clip tries to shed light on. I did, however, try to balance the dark with the light, hence the second half of the clip, which I feel is quite hopeful.

  • @odiwan74 yeah, i did. i don't think pictures of people in poverty are particularly hopeful.

  • @oetpay not that many of those last images are of obviously poverty stricken people. They are people of different nationalities though, many of whom live in vastly different level of affluence (or lack thereof) than you or I, or SMZ for that matter. Point being; that the light that shines from our sister's darling eyes, is universal. Yes, my interpretation is clumsy, but I hope that it is not hopeless.

  • the pictures used in this video are too obvious. while the song is very personal, like a conversation over a campfire, the pictures are too black and white and impersonal. people cry while our leaders laugh? and then you just took the words too literally. the imagery Efrim uses is just a gateway into a feeling more real, and that's where you should have gotten your pictures.

    it's not bad though.

  • @oddmanout1792 wow, one could presume you to be a pessimistic asshole.

  • @Antwonability Canadian band who hate canada

  • I don't like these predictable videos where the photos match the lyrics. Cheesy. I'm surprised there wasn't a picture of a bell to go along with the lyric "lose your heart like a clumsy bell"

  • Zeitgeist

  • @odiwan74 ymmv i guess.
