DeBeer's was a great heel character, but I always found him dull in the ring. Matching him against Wahoo was a good move because Wahoo was a non white & the stiff style of both men would make for a tough match.
@WWForever100 The 1986 Wrestlerock was actually intended too help the AWA compete with the WWF; They even released a song too try and compete with the "Rock N Wrestling" Vince McMahon was throwing togeather about that time (the Wrestlerock Rumble...*shudder*)
Well it was the last big show from the company....I think it had about 23 000 people....Superclash 2 had about 3 000 peoples, and Superclash 3 had about 1000 people...It was a good show, solid card in my opinion.
Match was fine with a okay dq ending, with a good brawl afterwards. Debeers was never great but Wahoo could work with anyone. I would love to see him with hard hitters like Hansen, Vader, and Samoa Joe.
WrestleRock was their biggest show and they were going for a big crowd. It was still one of the biggest crowds of the year and it wasn't unusual for territories to hold cards in baseball/football stadiums back then and draw 20-30,000.

They still should have done thsi in a smaller venue to fill all teh empty seats. It would have looked a lot better and been more profitable for them.
one more dumb mistake from Verne.
