What a JOKE
How did GM get away with filling bankruptcy when they received the BILLIONS from the tax payer bailout? What a sham! I thought the bailout was to prevent a bankruptcy I don't even think they needed the money to begin with! I feel GM's greed took the American people and our government for fools! And we won't ever get our tax dollars back. It makes me sick to hear how much there white collar employees are getting in bonuses when they still owe the tax payers billions!

"Thank you for helping us get back up."
As if we had a choice.

Ford never had this problem

Take a look at this video, written and sung by Darwin Haack. It really tells the story of the birth of a truck. He sang it 20 years ago when he worked at Flint Truck and Bus in Flint, Michigan. My son found the song and produced the video. Everytime I see a truck commercial, I think this should be the theme song playing in the background. Search "Top of the Line" by Darwin Haack in youtube to view it.

@soulsoldier1126 Indeed, he would.

GM paid us back with another government loan. That doesn't count in my book.

@spaatz1980 Ford is the best. Period.

Amazing work by Goodby, as always. Whoever thought of or found that Popeye clip deserves a major pat on the back. Most car companies are afraid of using nostalgia, Goodby's team found a way to make it work so well. Kudos.

Great ad. Music is "He Aint Heavy, He's My Brother". For those commenting about not being paid back, you might want to start following real news. In addition to paying us back, millions of jobs were saved. One GM plant in Kokomo, Indiana reopened because of the bailout and unemployment went from 20% in this tiny town to 12% overnight. Just one example.
Quit buying foreign products and we would not be in this mess. Great commercial GM hope to see one from Mopar soon.

Did any of the banks that we all bailed out Thank the public for saving their tails-NO-@ least GM makes something besides paper. Have had GM products since 1963-never had a bit of problem with any of them from Chevy to Cadillac. Will always buy as American as I can.
