Jain Temple of Gori Thar

Jain temple of Gori, said to date from 1376 is about 45 kilometers from Islamkot on the way to Nagarparkar (Sindh, Pakistan). Jains are followers of Mahavira, a contemporary of Budha. Though no jain live in Pakistan today, there is still a festival here on 20-25 March in honor of Jain god Parasnath.

Thanks Mr Bukhari,Taxila was once a great center for learning and Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya spend their most of time there.It's been said that the great Sain Umaswami written 'Tatvarthsutra',a fmous book on Jainism there.

sad to hear that this temple is not maintained, i am a jain and would have really liked to see this temple someday, i understand that in march some people celebrate the birs=th of Parshavnathji, who does the puja any idea

Idont know much abt it I came to know it from literature.Besides this one other Jain temples of Bhodesar and Nagarparkar are also worth visiting in Thar Pakistan.

It is located in Thar desert of Sindh, can be acessed from Islamkot which is about two hours journey from Mithi, town well connected with Hyderabad
