Gotwind axial flux wind generator directly powering a 5 watt Luxeon LED at just 2 foot off the ground in my turbulent wind garden.
Rotor diameter 32".
Will produce plenty more power in clean air at a good height.
More info and plans at:

  • Sheesh! Get a regulator on there (maybe just sandstone = )

  • cool windmill

  • cool windmill :)

  • Thanks very much for your advise! I did find some good information about the entire deal and I will be putting it on practice this weekend. I will post the results.. I hope I get good results :?

  • how much did this cost to make?

  • The AC~ power comers out of the alternator, that is wired to a bridge rectifier {3 if it is 3 phase AC} to get DC power. Regulate the DC power using a zener diode or a proper charge controller to get the required voltage {or you could try a regulator/rectifier unit from a motorcycle, depending on turbine size} and charge batteries or run lights. Do a google search on axial flux alternators.

  • No help huh?

  • Cool wind generator! : 0

How do you do the wiring? I built a wind generator using a treadmill motor and have it mounted on a 25 foot tower.. but I do not have knowledge on the electrical part.

Could I use the same kind of light bulb you used? How many at the same time?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Keep up the good work!!
