If you've been to bruntingthorpe then you would realise that the runway is an arse to get down on because of the trees so close to the end. Plus the fact that bruntinthorpe isn't really an airfield as such anymore its a car proving ground now.

the reason for this a it was a new pilot well the new captain flying the vulcan and he was just practicing too land (dont no why as it may not fly again lol)
