My first concert, late 70s in Omaha, and will always rank with the best. The Music Box sat like 1800, but was like a big old bar, square, with a 2nd floor balcony overlooking the band and a large dance floor. It was Western Swing at its finest, and Asleep at the Wheel at its best. Wasn't supposed to be there, as I was just 15, but the whole building rocked!!!
These folks live are worth the price of admission for sure, pure talent.....years ago I blasted my way west over route 66....that is not a beer drinkers road for sure!!!!
Great band and song! I had an AATW album from about late 70's I think. It was a "live form austin texas" but I know they have done more than one. This one had so many great songs. This song, miles and miles form texas, god bless the child etc. The album had a flier in it with a sketch of a cowgirl riding a bucking bronco. I let that album get away form me and i cannot find a cd of it ora copy of that album anywhere. :-(
oh the memories.....driving to west virginia with my parents....when i was a young lad... :) what has music turned into these days

They are a great band. I think they need to be seen live to truly be appreciated, though.
