music by Glen Phillips and Toad. lyrics by Glen Philips.
are you the plane
that shapes the board
part of a history
smoothed and worn
and oh, the windy weather
dry spells, brushfire
isn't it strange
to see my life
you must cut me down
to look inside
and oh, the simple pleasures
this ring tells of rain
and this one summer
good years, nightmares
how is it i remember
knowing that i would live forever
isn't it strange
how truth can change
and oh, the windy weather
this ring tells of rain
this one, summers
dry spells, brushfire

  • Ahhh the summer of '97 ..

  • @peacelove2323 because all their songs belong on the greatest hits!

  • best. song.ever.

  • Never heard this track until Glen played it on Adam Carolla's podcast. What an awesome song.

  • I've hadn't really heard of Toad before Adam Carolla's interview with Glen. After those acoustic pieces, I immediately started looking up songs.

I listened to that podcast 2-3 days ago and I still can't get enough of Rings; I love this song. Or should I say Circles?....

  • @kisscatastrophe Yeah I just got through listening to that podcast. He did a good job with the 3 songs he played.

  • Glen did a fantastic acoustic version of this on the Adam Corolla show earlier this week, first time he had ever played it acoustic live. Toad's tour finished up last night and it looks like we'll be getting a new record from them in a year or two. they've signed with Primary Wave and are re-releasing all of the old records and moving on to new material as well. glad to see it happen. wasn't sure it ever would

  • I love Glen and Toad! You know you're in for an ear-full with their songs.. just so esoteric and mysterious. I love it!
