Leadville is the highest incorporated city and second highest incorporated municipality in our country. I'm not sure what the difference is but Leadville sits pretty high at 10,152 feet (3,094 metres).

Here's my personal web page about Colorado in general:

  • What is the drive like from I-70 to Leadville on 24? Is it paved and easy driving for non-mountain folks?

Great video! I'm very intrigued by "America's highest city"! :-)

Thank you for the nice comment! Interstate 70, and then Highway 24 to Leadville, are both paved and well maintained. However, both can be steep and slippery in sections - especially in bad winter weather. A non-mountain person will have no trouble getting there unless there's a huge blizzard - such blizzards only occur a few times each winter.

  • @tallyallie whats your real name?

  • I drove through here recently, we took 82 from Aspen to Hwy 24, stopped at that Continental Divide scenic rest stop, that is about 12,000 feet there. We looked around Leadville and then took 24 up to I-70 back towards Denver. Leadville is neat to drive through, I have been there a few times but I could never live there, way too small and it is isolated in the winter.
