Simple majority means it would be easier to raise the taxes of those who actually earn and contribute to the system so that those who don't can live off the system. I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said, " The problem with democracy is that 51% of the people can tell the other 49% how to live." After June 30, I'm gone.

The Republicans like to talk about how California is not competitive with other states. Well, that is because we are one of the few states that requires a supermajority to pass a budget. Thus, the Republicans get to hold up the budget each year.
