Ericsson believes that in the Networked Society, more than 50 billion things will be connected, in order to make our lives and our businesses more efficient and more enjoyable.
Hi, Great to get your comments. Predictions are never easy. The idea of this film is that connected things make life easier. Our research shows that people love social networks and having things connect "socially" is easy and usable.
Example: The lights should be off while we are at work. If we forget, the house does it for us. Our car is friends with our media store and downloads new music that we like. Simple technology that we control. The ending of the film is "..to be continued". Perhaps AFTER this video ends, David gets a haircut. Perhaps he called Sophia back and they go out for a drink?

  • Stay home Dave. Watch some TV. Meanwhile Sophie's house shoots her out an airlock.

  • so basically stay at home, watch football in a language I can't speak, eat dry looking chineese, while you could have just answered and talked your way into getting some ass.. no thanks

  • Anyone know of a good tutorial to produce this kind of text animation ?

  • FOREVER ALONE

  • very good

  • Mientras tanto en África...

  • How about intelligent roads and cars in the future? A failsafe system in which cars run on efficient fuels/electricity and the cars speak to the roads by means of software.

  • I wasn't impressed at all. We don't need the vacuum to communicate, just automate it for every x days. Oven pre-heating should remain directly controlled in the kitchen. I don't see any real benefits of this extra information over the cost of connecting all those devices to my information stream.

  • I find it ironic to call this thing "social" while answering NO to the girl friend. maybe our future social network will be carpet, oven, fridge etc. :-)

  • I actually kind of liked the video. It's cute and even funny in a way. But then maybe it's a profound sense of loneliness that makes this idea seem strangely comforting.

  • @Angry6676 I found your comment oddly poetic.

  • I wonder if computers today want the future to look like this. Socially insecure humans trapped in sterile cages who get organic food delivered through a tube at the press of a button while half of the world starves to death fighting over genetically modified Frosted Flakes.
