Shred guitar lesson. Fast picking, economy picking, and chromatic licks. In just a couple hours after making some chromatic licks, I noticed a huge improvement in the use of all four of my fingers. I thought I'd just make a quick video to post for others to improve their own skills. This is my first guitar video on youtube. I hope you find it useful.

hey Bret, does your picking hand ever cramp up? You pick very fluidly and clean. And the picking technique seems very aesthetically pleasing. Barely any movement, clean and accurate note tone.

thanks! it used to. the reason it's fluid is because i am using the economy picking method. i do plan on making another video, a good quality one.. i didnt expect anyone to really find this useful.

i always tell my students to just play with a metronome and when u finally think a level on the metronome is really easy, then move up a level, dont rush up the metronome. btw search free online metronome on google for a free online metronome

With the economy picking.. do you use that on nearly everything like solos and shredding or just on excersises?

but really,just watching this helped me get the idea of economy picking where everything else just confused me!
