"We're looking at a 57-57.5 first lap, which is either silly or Komen has asked them to go through particularly fast".

"They've gone through 800 in 1:56 that is fast. Fast is the understatement of the year from Steve Cram there. That is virtually world record pace for the mile, nevermind 3,000 meters."

@cdxcsfu Yeah! Bekele just isn't fast enough, and I thought he'd have had a good shot at it. He can't really even get close to it. This record is safe for the foreseeable future, no question.
