Orquesta Revoltillo

In 'Orquesta Revoltillo', we can see simple objects from everyday life taking on the role of symbol. A ball pen, a doorbell, a book and a broom make the movements and sounds that can be expected from them. They form a lively orchestra of video instruments playing on the screen, sometimes displayed together and sometimes solo. There is knocking, sweeping, ringing and tinkling, and now and then a man's head speaking a few words. However, the structure of this composition is not so easy to trace back. Looking at and listening to these moving things, you wonder who or what generates the logic that is probably behind all this. Is it the artist, is it you as a viewer, or is it perhaps the Great Haphazard? Because ultimately it is chance that determines every day what we shall see and hear at what moment. In endless, trivial combinations of images and sounds, with the semblance of a symphonic structure. Vinken and Van Kampen

I saw the installation once (somewhere in France). now that was true greatness. wonderfull to walk between big projections and have the sound come from everywhere. took a while before I felt the rhythm and understood it was a musical composition, but then it was an even better experience.
