So the next day, I came home happy and guess what my mom said?
"Why so happy hun? You haven't been this happy since..." and she stopped herself.
"Since when?" I asked her.
"Uh, I don't even remember," she said, but I could tell she was lying. The only thing was, what was she lying about?
"Well, I'm happy because I'm going to go with Taylor."
"Wait, hun, I thought you WEREN'T gonna go out with him?"
"Selena talked some sense into me...thankfully."
"Oh sweetie! Come on, lets go get that truck of yours and we can talk more about it on the way there."
I got ready fast and we left in my mom's black Sedan.
"So what did you two do?" my mom asked.
"Oh, the usual," I answered.
"How late did you stay up?" she questioned.
"Um, like, 3:45 in the morning," I told her smiling.
She shook her head. "You are ridiculous."
I shrugged and then we pulled into the driveway of John's house. I'd never met him before. I didn't notice the address until we pulled up to the house.
"Mom, this is...Taylor's address..." I wasn't some creepy stalker girl, he had invited me and Selena and David to some of his parties that normally were held after the football games. We had never gone. "What's John's last name?"
"Lautner..."
My jaw dropped and she noticed.
"Oh, its Taylor's dad!" she exclaimed.
"Mom, you didn't realize this EARLIER? You've never met his kids before?" I asked her, kind of upset. She ignored me and hopped out of the car. She went up to the front door even more excited than before. Great. I sighed and then hopped out too. I went up to the door with her and Taylor answered.
His face lit up. "Hey! What are you guys doing here?" he asked.
I felt my cheeks burning and I looked down at my feet.
"We're buying the truck your dad's selling," my mom said.
"Cool!"
Then Taylor's dad came to the door. "Peggy!" he exclaimed, embracing her in a hug.
"Hey John!"
"Come on in guys! Wait, Taylor, isn't this your girlfriend?" Taylor's dad asked him.
Taylor's face went red. "Dad!"
"Sorry son, just asking! Hello Nina! Its nice to meet you! Taylor raves about you, all the time."
"But we just started going out last night..." I started but was cut off.
"Yes, but he has talked about you since, let's see..."
"OKAY dad, that's enough, really," Taylor cut in, face even more red.
Then Mr. Lautner led me and my mom back to his garage where the truck was sitting. It was a red '83 Ford with old seats that needed re-upholstering.
It was perfect.

On Monday when I pulled into school, I pulled up to where Selena always waited for me to get there. She saw me and screamed extra loud. Everyone started staring. Her cheeks turned red and then she came over.
"I can't believe it!" she shrieked, climbing in. She smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen in my life.
Well, it was second. But only to Joe...
She screamed and started clapping. "We can go to Taylor's parties! Oh my god Nina, we HAVE to go now that you're his girlfriend! You can't skip them anymore!"
I sighed. "That is very true. Friday night parties, here we come," I said with no enthusiasm in my voice what-so-ever.
She stuck out her tongue at me and I pulled into a parking space next to a nice black Mustang. She climbed out. I grabbed my book bag and opened my door but as soon as I did, the door from the Mustang opened too, and Taylor came out with his Aviators on and his backpack flung over his left shoulder. I hopped down from my door and hurried around to the other side of my truck, linking arms with Selena and walking towards the doors of the school quickly, hoping not to talk to Taylor. I don't know why, but I just didn't.
"Hey Nina, wait up!"
We turned around and saw Taylor jogging up to us.
"Hey Taylor," I said when he got to us. Okay, I was being ridiculous before. Why didn't I want to talk to this handsome football-playing hunk I call my boyfriend?
"Hey there pretty lady," he said and hugged me. Which was AMAZING by the way.
Then David caught up to us too and the warning bell rang.
"See ya guys later," Selena said, pulling David to homeroom with her.
They went together and then Taylor turned to me.
"Can I walk you to class?" he said, holding out his arm.
"Sure," I said, taking it. He was so freaking amazing.
Oooo! Exciting! Until...This story seems too happy...hm, what could we do to ruin it????
