I got to operate a hitachi and kamatsue excavator it was fun the controls are easy to remember once you get used to it.

@subicbob54 Almost right but not quite, its not exposed metal that causes the problem its the amount of air in the tank, at the end of the shift the fuel tank is hot, and as it cools down condensation forms, the water in turn ends up at the bottom of the fuel tank, by filling up at the end of the shift, it pushes all the warm air out of the fuel tank, you dont need exposed metal for condensation to form, it occurs anywhere as the temperature falls, thats why it feels damp outside in the morning.

hey, can u make a vid on the steps to turning on the excavator, i know the controls and everything but i have no fucking idea where the key shit is

4. warm up the hydraulics sometimes by working them back and forth for a few circuits.
As far as refueling, every operator I talk to has a different take on when it ought to be done. Some operators (and bosses) are adamant that it MUST be done in the morning, before starting work. I've met others who are just as adamant that it should only be done at the end of the shift. I just go with whatever way the company I work for prefers, if I'm the one doing the refueling.

38 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator & Instructor! It is very important to fill the Fuel Tank of the machine at the end of the shift, because a partially empty tank, will produce more water in the Diesel tank, because of more exposed metal! A set of injectors can be destroyed in 8 hours if there is more than the tinyiest amounts of dirt & water in the system.
