  • Actually, I thought it was a ball of predrafted roving, at least in the case of the woman with the verb large cop of green yarn on her spindle. She was spinning it, winding it back onto her hand, and spinning it again. I would love to see more detail.

  • They're spinning something.

    It is amazing how they do it without even looking!

  • These women are not spinning : they are twisting yarns before weaving. If you look carfully, you can see that they already have a ball of yarn in the other hand and not wool. The yarns are always twisted before the weaving to give more elasticity.

  • This is fantastic! It would also be wonderful if you can shoot a video about how American women do drop spindle to make clothes in rural areas too!
