The Great Escape (Original) Walkthrough: Struggle In The Mountain

This covers Mission 4: Struggle In The Mountains from the PS2 version of The Great Escape.

Here's the original walkthrough I wrote for this mission:

Mission 4: Struggle in the Mountains

Character: MacDonald
Inventory: Goon's Uniform
Objective(s): Escape from the Mountain

You start off with MacDonald wearing the Goon's Uniform. You have to get to the hut straight ahead before one of the Germans answer the ringing phone. Run across the bridge and into the front door (the one with the Sentry). Inside make a right and go through the door. Use the "action" button to answer the phone. After some dialogue a German Officer will demand you to tell him what the call was about. Press the "action" button when the little dialogue bubble shows up. MacDonald will explain and the Officer will walk away. Run over to the table in this room and pick up the First Aid Kit and Lugar Pistol Ammo. Go into the other room across the hall where the Officer walked into. When he stops with his back to you choke him, and then grab the Sniper Rifle Ammo off the table next to the sink. Grab the Lugar Pistol, First Aid Kit, and two boxes of Pistol Ammo. Head out the door straight ahead, when the Guard turns his back to you choke him. Run forward through the small gate straight ahead and to the building with the barrels near it. Go around back and climb the ladder, before you get to the top, peek over the roof and wait to see the spotlight move away. When it does climb the rest of the ladder and jump down through the skylight. In this room you'll find two First Aid Kits on the shelf, a box of Pistol Ammo, and two Stick Grenades on a small table near the shelves, a Kar 98 Sniper Rifle and Ammo. Get the Storeroom Key off the flashing key rack and equip it. Open the door and equip the Sniper Rifle, before heading outside get the First Aid Kit and Sniper Rifle Ammo off the table. Outside run into the small fenced in area. There are two crates stacked up onto each other, hide behind here and Save your Game by going into the Pause Menu.

Save Your Game

Go into Sniper Zoom and shoot the guy, on top of the spotlight tower, in the head. (MacDonald automatically aims at the closest enemy so don't worry about pushing any auto-lock buttons.) The base may or may not go on alert. Shoot the one of the two guys that stand near the checkpoint (the other guy usually comes running toward you after you kill the tower Soldier), but after you kill the guy that stays behind, the base will definitely go on alert. The Sniper Rifle only holds one shot at a time, but it kills a guy in one shot. Shoot the second Soldier that came to investigate you, then go back into Sniper Zoom and shoot the two Soldiers that come running down the path. Go back into Sniper Zoom and kill that Sentry Guard from earlier (move closer to him if you need to). Run up the path the two Soldiers came from. When you get to an area at the path when you have to turn left, equip the Lugar Pistol and shoot the two Soldiers near the truck. (After every time you use a gun with a clip, you will have the option to reload it by pressing the "action" button.) Run over into the alcove and get the MP40 Machine Gun, Machine Gun Ammo, and First Aid Kit, then look under the light to find another First Aid Kit. Equip the Machine Gun and run down the path and to the left. Go into first person and shoot him. Equip the Stick Grenades and run down the path, toss a Grenade at the Soldier behind the barrels (hold down the "attack" button to throw the Grenade further). Take cover behind the bolder near by until the Grenade blows up. Equip the Machine Gun and shoot the Soldier who comes around the corner (he might not show up). There's a Soldier in the distance; you will automatically aim for him so just shoot him.

Save your Game.

Rush down the hill shooting every Soldier around you. Including the one inside the Machine Gun bunker. Use First Aid Kits if needed. (It's best to use them if your Health Meter is half gone or you're near death.) (Tip: Use your other Grenade on the Machine Gun Bunker.) When you get past the bunker you'll probably have to kill a couple more Soldiers. That's it for MacDonald.

I HAVE COMPLETE SAVED GAMES BUT I DONT KNOW WHERE IS THE FOLDER WHERE I PUT THE SAVED GAMES

@TheSvastika: Oh sorry man I don't have the PC version. The saved game file is usually in the documents section of your computer. Or at least it is for me. Try going to Program Files then the game company's folder.
