We watched this video in school today. Omigod, when he's like, "She got outraged about hunger one day, and now, we're selling our house," I swear half the class (including me) cracked up!

You've given more than most of us have given. Thanks for the inspiring example!

I just finished reading "The Power Of Half" and commend your family's big step to downsize to help make a real difference by giving half from the sale of your huge house to charity. However, I questioned why you didn't just wait until your house was actually sold to decide which charity to donate it to. Or even if you wanted to decide ahead to keep the goal to shoot for in mind, it would make more sense not to actually commit to the charity until you actually had the money to donate.

Best Example Ever. Let's spread the word about this family. And why is Hannah not studying Economics!
Good Job Joseph the video looks good, what editing software did you use?
I'm all about development and policy evaluation, you guys should check out Innovations for Poverty Action, a research organization that helps create and evaluate effective policies for developing countries.

Hey guys! So I recently made a donation to start a fund at a youth philanthropy organization and they gave me a certificate... and a copy of your book! I think that it is really cool that your whole family actually have the initiative to go out and do something and not just sit on your butts and talk. The book was so inspiring and I will do something in the future so I can help too!
So how does it feel to have a book about your family being handed out to teens in charity programs? you rock!

And for everyone who is more concerned about homeless Americans than people in other countries... there's a McD's right down the street, buy them something. Give them directions to the homeless shelter and food bank down the street.
The people in Africa are not so blessed. I appreciate what this family is doing because you will never realize how bad it actually is until you step out of our American "Its all about us" mindset.. thats why there is world hunger in the first place.

"This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God's love is not living in that person. 18 My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but by our actions and true caring." 1 John 3:16-18 America has more than enough to end world hunger. Thank you for stepping out and sharing Hannah & fam (:

Shame on that evil rich person for buying a Mercedes. Instead of working hard and buying a nice car he could have fed some homeless people for a day. If only every rich pig did that we would be living in a utopia! Nevermind all of the factory workers and engineers that it would put out of business if everyone stopped buying luxury cars, don't think of all the homeless people that would create.

Just goes to show you, there is a bleeding heart liberal ( Aka sucker ) born every minute.
The point of giving to an African charity might be that US dollars will go a lot farther to help more people than they would in the US. It's their money, they can donate where they want.. Don't like it? Sell your own house.

I commend this family. First, making a movie being on the news, to set an example to people that have too much, opposed to just enough to get by. Everyone should help out in this world, whether its with money, or just helping hands.
Targeted at the negativity, this family is making sacrifices, downgrading from there luxurious home; who cares if they could pay for it from their own pockets. What does just handing over some green paper do? They are changing their lives, simply to help others.
