Cass and Frankie on New Year's Eve 1992--Part 1

Frankie has been bustling around the house getting everything ready for the small party she and Cass are throwing for New Year's Eve since she got up that morning, and Cass comes up behind her and kisses her cheek, telling her the hostess needs a break. Cass comments that Frankie is not on his wavelength as she straightens an ornament on the Christmas tree, and she promises she will be on his wavelength after the party. Frankie is nervous because she wants everything to be perfect for Douglas and for Felicia, since Douglas rarely gets out and she wants this to be worth the effort for him, and she wants Felicia to be less tense than she's been lately and to look at the fact that Frankie and Cass are not serving alcohol as being supportive of Felicia. Cass tells Frankie to relax as he massages her shoulders, saying these are their friends and no one is judging them. Frankie enjoys the massage. She and Cass agree that they're not sorry they're not going to the New Year's Ball, but Cass says he does love dancing with Frankie, and they laugh and dance a bit. The dance ends in a hug, and Cass kisses Frankie's cheek and says maybe they can do a little dancing tonight. Frankie agrees, but says it'll have to be after everyone goes home because she doesn't want to make Douglas and Christy feel left out. When Cass mentions the dead ringer for Christy he saw at TOPS the night of Iris's Christmas party, Frankie tells Cass that he can't mention anything about that, especially about Douglas, and Cass is surprised at how adamant Frankie is about this.
