My dad was always the one person that would call me at midnight on my birthday just to ensure that he was the first one to wish me a Happy Birthday. He won his battle with cancer at the end of June. My birthday was the first day of August. The evening before my birthday, I felt a sense of impending doom because I would be missing his call. I turned on the radio, "Hope I didn't ruin your birthday. I still love you. Happy Happy Birthday Baby." I laughed and cried at the same time.

Ten years ago I got to see him in concert on my birthday and he dedicated this song to me. I also got a backstage pass and met him in person. How friggin' cool is that?

@CatherineBellFan1 WOW!! How cool.. I was fortunate enough to meet him twice and got a hug from him during his concert aboard the USS Lexington in Corpus Christ, Tx ... Thank you soo much for sharing such a wonderful memory with us. Have a wonderful Ronnie Milsap day ... dodybelle
