ASK21 Glider accident onboard video

During takeoff the rear canopy opened forcing the pilot for an immediate
emergency detach from the tow-plane and consequent emergency landing. All was recorded with the the onboard camera.

non ho capito cosa è successo che ha interrotto il decollo ...

@algigia Ciao, quello che e' successo e' che sono andato al bagno prima del decollo, dopo aver controllato la canopy posteriore. Al mio ritorno, non ho ricontrollato (errore, ma non immaginavo che una persona aveva riaperto la canopy, l'aveva richiusa senza serrarla.

Al decollo, si e' aperta e danneggiata, costringendomi ad un atterraggio di emergenza. Tutto qua, sempre ricontrollare il mezzo se ci si allontana anche per due minuti!

The is a modification to the ASK21 that is intended to prevent the front canopy being locked without the rear canopy being closed, but with force it can be over ridden. In an emergency, when opened the rear canopy is designed so that the supporting frame breaks, at weak points, achieved by drilled holes (these can be weakened by the canopy being left open and unsupported). Having opened in flight, the frame is likely to have been damaged and needs checking (probably replaced).
