  • It's funny-I never recall being taught carb counting at diabetic camp in the 70's (I went to one in Canada). This is a fancy camp - compared to what I had at Camp Banting in Dunrobin, Ontario. Wish I'd still been living in England at the time. Thanks for the memories (I now carb count - since going onto a pump after 40 years of MDI). I'm all grown up now.

  • I can't imagine only having to have one shot a day. How would they have good sugars?

  • Did that girl just dive into the shallow end?

  • wow we have come a long way

  • Oh yea I forgot to mention that the documentary i'm thinking of takes place in America.

  • Thank you for this! Type 1 Diabetic of 8 years here! Do you happen to recall a documentry about diabetes that talked about the guy who figured out a way to produce insulin from I think pigs pancreases and he gave it to his wife? Also it had people selling fake insulin on the black market. I think this occured during one of the world wars. I would love to see the documentry again, but I can't remember the name of it. I had watched it on TV many years ago.
