I notice you are using fairly heavy duty wire, have you found this successful over time ? I am about to begin using my unit in the car / from the bench, though my electrical knowlage is slight hence asking
thom in scotland.

you try distilled water? I notice your water has some nasty stuff in it, I used to get green water from copper in the house lines, brown is iron or minerals...
I tryed distilled water, and Lye for electrolyte, you might like the fact you can adjust the amperage up by adding more Lye, could be a great way to solve that high amperage issue :-)

how did you get the plates so close together?

Listen to IdRatherBeCubing. He has a clue. The voltage has to do with the chemical process. You cannot just crank the voltage way up. It is wasted. You need more surface area, more efficient liquid or more cells. That's it.

20,000 volts would be totally useless, the only thing that matters is current. In fact, anything over about 2.2 volts is just burned off as heat. You want 2.2 volts per plate gap for optimal production. At 12 volts, this means 5 neutral plates between positive/negative plates. Each gap produces the same amount of gas that you'll get off of a single +- direct gap with same amperage and far less heat too.

You can purchase a capacitor from ebay for shocking fish which hooks to a 12V battery but puts out 1000's of volts. This device cost only $50 to $100 and is easily found and wired up. I haven't personally tryed it but it has to work by laws of Electricity.

Silver would be even better. Try silver coated/plated plates and boost the voltage with a capacitor x 4 and see if the gas does increase and the amps goes down.

I have been trying to find out if increasing the voltage to 20,000 using a coil would produce more HHo gas while reducing the amps. even though My HHO generator produces a very good supply of HHO gas it pulls almost 50 amps. I at this time found any info on this topic. Can anyone?
Oh, I have now connected into the alternator behind the diodes to draw out ac power. Also, my inverter setup was designed to run on 110 volts at 4 volts per cell using baking soda(aluminum engine safe) so it has 29 plates in it. I have now rewired it to work with 14 volts.

Very interesting concept indeed. Just curious what is the exact capacitor you used, or atleast a source where it can be found so I can experiment further.
