@cfin28 Even squeezing the bar as hard as possible will activate your nervous system and your whole body to tighten to some degree. That's why strength coaches want to see white knuckles and a tight "core."
Guys, study kinesiology. I don't know much but I do know that muscle that are not primary or even secondary movers are often used to help stabilize. If you are doing a bent over row and try to spread the bar to mimic the technique of the eccentric phase of the bench press, you WILL use your triceps because you are trying to straighten your arm even though it is bending. The more I learn the more I realize I don't know much and I realize the human body is VERY complex.
