It's a little late (no thanks to YouTube...) but at last, it's here! This is the first installment of Advance Theory: Best of the Best, a feature that celebrates the greatest software released for the recently orphaned Game Boy Advance. The original plan was to pack three reviews into each episode of Advance Theory, but it took so long to finish just one that I think I'll need to split the feature into fifteen volumes, each focusing on a single game.
The first game on display is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I don't even like the Final Fantasy series that much, but even I can appreciate how this game brings together the accessibility of an RPG for younger players with the depth and versatility of a full-fledged military strategy title.
It's debatable if Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is the best game of its kind on the GBA (I'm sure more experienced strategy fans could make a strong case for Advance Wars or Tactics Ogre), but with its user-friendly interface and addictive gameplay, it's the best strategy game for ME.
Well, that's enough outta me! Enjoy the review!
