  • What I find so intriguing about the old cars when they are idling they sound a bit hollow and rickety and you wonder how that could be a racing engine. But revv them above 4000 rpm and they suddenly start to live, revv them above 6000 and it makes all your hairs stand up.

  • if you think the 917 was the best car in this video thumbs upp

  • @zman6033 - I believe so

  • @Humps1 was the Bizz running the chevy 327?

  • the american cars sound like shit

  • @7inrain That was back int the day before electronic fuel injection and direct ignition, etc. Most real performance engines were barely able to run at anything less than half throttle; they had to be tuned for high-end power production at the expense of lower RPM smoothness. There's a reason they keep feathering the throttle...it's not (just) 'cause it sounds good, it's because the engine doesn't like too idle. Low rotating mass and aggressive cams mean that the engine doesn't have momentum.

  • What is the first car? A Ferrari? And is that a Porsche 914/6 GT at :30? And a real Shelby GT350! Man, what a lot of nice machines...and I don't even recognize half of them! I guess you don't have to know what they are to know that they are very sexy and fast. =) Although it's amazing how much smaller they look from up close. Doesn't seem like something so low and tiny could scream and howl and sound like it's about to tear the pavement off the track at any minute...

  • @Humps1 it's a Chevron B16: 1:35 . Lola T70: 2:26
