Decided to upload a full HD (1080p) new version of this video. (128-bit audio clip used)

The "debate" over this has been ongoing for a long time now, and while everyone can say I know this or that, noone has been able to provide any solid evidence as to who is actually singing this cover.

If you can provide some actual evidence that proves who is singing this particular cover of this song, please comment or message me so that I may label this correctly. Or if you have any other video of a cover of this song that sounds like it is the same person.

You may post your opinion of who it is, but try not to insult anyone, because most likely your opinion is only as useful as the person (peoples) you are bashing. And I actually don't care what your opinion is, nor am I asking for it.

If you can provide some sort real proof against any artist, showing it is not them, please do so.


At this point I seriously think a lot of people who watch videos on YouTube have the poorest sound quality available to them on their computer.
Some of the names I have seen come up I can and/or have eliminate(d) myself just from common knowledge of music, or by easily differentiating between the 2 voices.

Update: If you post a comment saying you found the concert video on a Google search, or anything like that, and you fail to provide me with a link to it, or even a response to me when I request it, I WILL remove your comment, don't claim you have evidence then hide like a little bitch when you're asked to provide it.

I had this same recording about 10 years ago and the mp3 was labeled as Chantal Kreviazuk. Also, if you listen to other live recordings of Chantal, her speaking voice sounds VERY similar. I realize this doesn't prove anything, so delete this comment if you want, but I believe it to be Chantal.

@lornabucket I don't delete comments just because they are an opinion, or they fail to prove anything. I only delete comments from people who assert their opinion as if it were fact, when it is just an opinion. Or people who verbally abuse others over, what's again, an opinion.

I have nearly changed sides on the subject, and for me this is literally 50/50 between Jewel and Chantal, and until I see some substantial evidence, is where I will remain.

I have about 30 Jewel bootlegs and seen her 4 times. NONE of the bootlegs have Jewel performing this song or playing piano. She is a guitar player. I believe this is an artist perfoming both the piano part and the vocal. Also, Jewel would probably never say "before I talk anymore". Jewel loves telling stories. So, just another opinion (based on some tangental observations), and no disrespect to others intended.

has anyone put a lid on this yet? cause i always thought it was jewel, but have been scouring the internet and cant find anything that credits her with the rendition (apart from of course ppl on sites like youtube etc)

@mariananbc Yep, you sure can see that she covered this song (according to whoever created that website). Does that prove that this version is her? No. I even had a friend twitter Jewel the other day and ask her, though we got no response at all.
