To kick off the new century, starting in 2001, a few authentic GM car execs joined Richard Earl in creating the Harley Earl Buick TV ad campaign. Directed by Tony Scott and starring Tiger Woods these ads illuminated a rich and powerful modern auto design legacy that once came from America's auto capital. To fully appreciate the breadth and scope of Harley Earl's inventions and influence, it's important to remember that GM was America's crown jewel of the 20th century business world. The secret behind GM's unparalleled success was Harley Earl's pioneering the art of making cars. For the first time, he turned the auto industry into the world's largest art market and today his greatest motoramic masterpieces often sell for millions of dollars.

You can put a pink dress on a pig and call it beautiful, but it's still a pig. No wonder GM failed with vanity pieces like this. Where are the car guys!!!!!!!!!!

What a piece of shit concept and campaign. Harley Earl was a giant of a man in many senses of the word, but he didn't blow his own trumpet like these so-called "creatives" would like us to believe.
Watching crap like this makes me laugh. If Harley were alive today he'd take one look at that Buick and say, "You call that a car?"

It was people like Harley Earl who helped to create the greatest auto car in the world and it was people like Roger Smith who helped destroy it.
