Wheelslip + Sanding + Smoking: 5 EMD WDG4s with a Coal Train!

10 January 2011, 1127hrs.
Twin WDG4s come smoking out of a tunnel and roar up the Braganza Ghats with a loaded coal train, with triple WDG4 bankers bringing up the rear. Listen to the ear-splitting wheelslip noise as the locos use sanding to fight their way up the formidable gradient!
Location: Dudhsagar, Braganza Ghats, Goa.

so they use the sand for traction where do they keep sand at ?

@philiphuynh There are four 'boxes' on each side of the locomotive to store sand and use when needed. You can see two of these at 0:29 and 0:30, mounted on the sides of the locomotive, just above the bogies.

@dheerajrao please help im so confused with this places where is castle rock and where is dudhsagar are they too close in which state does dudhsagar falls lies and ???and why always i see wdg4 locomotive compared to other diesel locos such as wdm2a and wdm3a???if you know please tell me beacause i want to reach hear from nagpur (maharashtra) so which station will come first castle rock or dudhsagar???please reply im waiting thankyou
