The associated trigram of this Poomse is Yin: the end of the beginning, the evil part of all that is good. Even in this darkness, there is still some light. Performing this Taeguk one should be aware that this is the last Taeguk to be learned, it also is the end of a circle, and therefore it is also the first, the second etc

  • many koreans dont do this, Your instructor teaches Correctly and by the book however aslong as the kick doesnt venture above his own head then its valid

  • i thought that aswel, this is also one of the most difficult patterns to learn and do well but dont worry :) persistance is the way forward

  • who said ITF does palgwe forms? palgwes are the older WTF forms...ITF does the Chong Hon forms developed by Gen. Choi lol

  • wth this is kinda diff for a boy who has short term memory like me zzz

  • i think there is no problem with his form it looks very well. i think the problem lays with modern more americanized martial artist being to laxed. the poomsae was performed the traditional way the correct way.

  • I believe we will need to agree to disagree. We study poomsea to train both in discipline and muscle control. Our kicks/blocks/punches are as we would be in a fight.

  • You have to understand the application of a kick, in this instance, pushing in the front kick wouldn't serve the purposed of demonsrating the kick.

Pushing in is for when you are attacking with the front kick and you need to damage or move your opponent. That would be unnecessary is just demonstrating a straight front kick.

  • I don't like the way he performes that poomsae.

  • While I am impressed with his sharp blocks and punches, my WTF instructor (6th Dan) teaches the front kicks are to be pushed in (to your opponents gut) and not kickign up, as it appears in these videos.
