StarCraft 2 Zerg Extractor Micro

I generally try to give my opponents something to shoot at early in the game. This allows 2 things. First, they can't build anything that requires Vespene Gas until they destroy at least one of the Extractors. Second, I get to have visibility in their base for 50 minerals.

In this example, I was doing it a little crazy and realized that he didn't build out the Barracks. Because of that, he could only attack with SCVs. So, I would watch the HP on the screen and when it got near zero, I would reclaim the drone and build again. Since SCVs are not set to auto-attack, it requires user input. Then after the Extractor appears to have been destroyed, I rebuild and do it all over again. In the mean time, I am building out my army in my base while the opponent has nothing.

Granted, this works only if you get in early on (1v1 is easy to do because you know where their base is) and if they do not build up a stronger force to remove the Extractors.

None the less, I generally use this as an annoyance technique. Because it's cheap and effective.

haha that is pretty clever but seriously that terran was a toal noob. lol why would he atk your extracter but not lings? he prolly couldve taken your 6 lings with his scvs. but ya if like you said you use it for an annoyance and if you yourself are planning on an early gas build then it would def work to your advantage by delaying their gas
