I bought this very pretty Mele ukulele at Waimanolo's 'Honolulu Cracked Seeds and Ukuleles' on the island of Oahu, Hawaii 2005. This Mele is built in Java and set-up in Maui. It is made of solid mahogany, it's light and I have to be careful as the mahogany dings easily. It has the distinctive mahogany bark when strummed. It's strung with Hilo strings GCEA.
You can see it on my Isa Lei video
I have tried Worths on it and it works well. I found the Aquilas too bright for the mahogany. Now it's strung with Hilos as when I first bought it.
You can see it played in my Isa Lei video
