  • I remember being in Misawa. When I was eight we went to the beach and my dad found a dead pig on one of the breakwaters. Mom wouldn't let me go see, but I heard it was really gross.

  • A dead pig in Misawa beach...Wow, that's weird. You hear of dead fish, not pigs, LOL Misawa was nice, I liked it. The peace and quiet, miss it!

  • I was stationed in Misawa 20 years ago. I had a great time in Japan. I hope Misawa didn't get hit too bad. Terrible what has happened to the people of Japan.

  • @NateJensen1991 I used to go surfing here when I lived in Misawa. I lived there from 1989-1992 and I loved it. Surfing here, Hachinohe and at Rokkasho and Mutsu. Snoboarding in Hakkoda, Appi, Shizukuishi, Hachimantai, Higashi Hachimantai. Man, great memories. I moved to Misawa my senior year of high school but made some good friends and had great experiences.

  • @TriniChick726 I did a four year tour there and I kinda miss it.

  • I'll be moving to Misawa in January, so I have a feeling you may just have a chance to see your 1st fender bender!!! LMAO

  • Not sure.. at the time I was a lonely 1 striper and tried to keep it within my financial limits. The enlisted club, the Italian restaurant on the hill (golf course), Popeyes, Burger King, and that restaurant off base were my main stops. Outside of that it was yakisoba cooked by the JN's in my unit, or good at the chow hall.. it wasn't bad in Misawa.

  • Wow, I never knew that there was a hotel there. Sounds awesome, I will definitely have to check it out. Shrimp noodles sounds wonderful, I do like their soups. Was Sukiya around when you were here?

  • OMG, the roads are so narrow in the first place, those trucks scare the crap outta me!! Trust me, there are many times when I think we're gonna sideswipe some car/truck. Kudos to the japanese, they're really good drivers. So far I haven't even seen a fender-bender off-base, amazing. OH Yeah, the Hello Kitty cars are still around, so tiny, when I first saw the cars I couldn't believe it, I mean, I'm 5ft 2" and I look like a giant in front of those cars, lol
