I recently got an NES but it had the infamous blinking red light syndrome. I tried cleaning and unbending the 72-Pin Connector as well as I could and I tried almost every method possible, but nothing fixed it. The red light was flashing even without a game in! So I found out that the only thing that could fix it, the final resort, was to disable the chip that was causing the blinking red light, and it worked! I wish I had controllers for it now though...

  • It cured the blinking light, but now I'm getting a grey-screen..

    Any tips?

  • @Englepest For me, that was a good sign. That usually is what my screen looks before I put a ame in and turn it on.

  • at 4:03 There is a chip that says Hyundai on it! That is a car company! What the F***?!

  • @SuperRyderBros Theres also one that says TOSHIBA lol.

  • If cleaning fixes the red light problem is it best not to disable the chip if you are not planning on buying imports?

  • @Harp00nX Well if cleaning works for you then just do that. Cleaning didnt work for me and although I dont plan to buy imports, this is the only way to fix mine.

  • dude i cannot find a screwdriver small enough for mine wtffff

  • Nice Job.

  • @wagonlove try just pushing the game in far enough so that when you press it down the leading edge scrapes along the socket then wiggle to the left then right is might blink on and off but the game should try to work however if it still dosent work it might be effed or de dirty use q tip and rubbing alcohol to clean connectors

the by pass worked for me to play the game that didnt work before

  • @Englepest there are many ways to try to get the game to recognise is it just one game?

  • I just get a gray derp screen now. What do I do?

  • I did this, it stopped blinking. but now I got the gray screen. so all I need now is to clean the connector or get a new one. what would you recommend to use?

  • @DrSpychology Sum 41 - In Too Deep

    Haddaway - What is Love

the last one (apart from Zelda) I dont recognize.

  • @SuperRyderBros do the words "multi-national conglomerate" mean anything to you?
