Leon vs Countless Zealots on a moving Elevator.

Previous to the Salazar boss battle, you hop onto an elevator in the tower to reach the top - On the way, a horde of Zealots begin to jump onto it. This fight is extremely tense without using bigger weapons, as you could be fighting up to five very tough Zealots at once, and with very little space to do so - Not only that, but some will convert to Plaga's and one very nearly nibbled on my cranium. In my Burly Brawl movie I thought that the Ganados were pretty weak, probably scripted that way because there was so many of them - This time, they're damn tough, taking many suplex's / kicks and bullets to kill - Thankfully they can be knocked off the edge of the Elevator to make some breathing space.

== By Burly Brawl (Something that I pilfered from the Matrix Reloaded) I mean fighting multiple enemies with intent to save ammo by wearing them down with special moves rather than weaponry.

When I first played RE4 I found myself lacking ammo and healing throughout the campaign as I never knew any tricks or how to conserve ammo properly (ie. used any weapon I had to kill enemies, even when all it could have taken was a pistol bullet to the face / swing of the knife).

Thanks to playing Mercenaries so much, I've learned how to handle myself better and preserve ammo by only relying on the handgun, special attacks (ie. melee attacks used on stunned opponents) and the knife.

Currently sailing through the campaign the second time, with plenty of ammo for all weapons saved up for bosses while I just use the Red9 (Instead of the regular handgun) to kill everything on the way. ==

  • just stay in a corner kick a lot and use the shotgun for crowd control. Just sayin

  • The description states this is a campaign clearing the game with just the handgun and knife, with ammo preservation for bosses.

This wouldn't be very interesting if I just stood in a corner, used the shotgun in a bind and "kicked a lot". Just sayin

  • Thank you all for the comments, ratings and suggestions, they've all been taken on board and appreciated - I haven't honestly played the regular RE4 campaign as much since completing it and going wild in the mercenaries mini-game, but I'll definately revisit it at some stage on Pro-Mode and try out some of the suggestions and see if I can cook up some more footage :)

  • Suplexing unmasked enemies is *fun*. By the way, you should try playing through the entire game (Except for the part with the Regeneradors, where a rifle/incendiary grenades are recommended) with only the Blackbird. It's challenging, but pretty fun (Salazar is hard as hell that way)

  • I was thinking of doing the Burly Brawls again in Pro mode, just never gave it much time.

When it came to bosses I just annihilated them the regular way as by then I'd have bucket loads of all ammo types saved up seeing as I was only ever using the handgun. It's fun that way, although the handgun you use makes an awfully huge difference.
