Interesting to read this now after the Jan. 27 2011 "update" that seems geared toward de-emphasizing and devaluing organizers. Letting any member of a group create a "meetup in the making" is a goofy and in some cases dangerous idea that is doomed to fail. Also, making everyone's avatars super-tiny and putting all of their recent activity at the very bottom of the page, and with ugly Google maps, it seems like they want to push the PEOPLE into the background in favor of the advertisers.
