A brief snippet of a documentary we shot of the legendary classic british rock group Thunder. Following the band on a trip to Japan, we captured behind the scenes footage as well as a live show - ultimately produced as a 2 x disc DVD box set

SPECIAL THANKS TO: Mark Wilkinson for taking time out of his own personal tour to come and sing for the intro to this programme.

Two of the oldest forms of traditional Japanese music are shōmyō or Buddhist chanting and gagaku or orchestral court music, both of which date to the Nara and Heian periods.

During the Edo period actors (after 1652 only male adults) performed the lively and popular kabuki theater. Kabuki, which could feature anything from historical plays to dance plays, was often accompanied by nagauta style of singing and shamisen performance.

Thank you again Mark!
