This poignant, comforting Little Pearl reflects a vivid vision Linda had of her older dog Katie, shortly after Katie's death in March 2008. In the vision, Katie was running joyfully, free and without limits, on a green mountain ridgeline. The photo here is of Katie's best friend Mitch, standing in for her.

This is the first of a series of Dog Pearls. It features five dogs filmed in HD on a beautiful mountaintop bald in the Blue Ridge Mountains, June 2008. It was created simultaneously with "Spirit Dog".

The next Pearls in this series will be more playful, even funny. This whole series will be related to adoptions and the benefits of bringing animals into our lives.

  • Every time I watch this video, I am grateful to be reminded again that "returning to spirit is coming home" - how very true, and how beautiful to have this important reminder accompanied by such lovely visuals and music. Thank you, Little Pearls. You sure do know how to capture the essence. I really hope you're getting the funding you need - the world needs more beautiful reminders.

  • @skinnybopbop Thank you for your words and the feeling behind them. That makes my day!

  • Thank you, Linda! I just sent a friend request. Slow responses post surgery.

  • Very moving! The picture is stunning (and I could only watch it "normal" view as the HD was jumpy on my computer). What a wonderful piece with a profound message, simply delivered. Bravo! Bravo!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • Made me cry!! Beautiful Dogs! Great photography! Wonderful voice over!

  • You're a softie, Dana:) Thank you!

  • What a lovely homage to Katie and all animals whom we have loved and who have enriched our lives beyond measure. Beautiful work.

  • Okay, someone already said it - it made me cry. So that's at least two of us. Thank you for capturing the spirit of passage so beautifully.
