Smyrni was the intellectual center of Asia Minor since 1000 BC. Ionia was the birthplace of science. Today Smyrni is but a shadow of its former self.

I hope, Mehmet, some day the Greeks, the Armenians, and the Jews will return to Smyrni, to continue a proud tradition of 3000 years.

Even if they do not, they offered the world the light of science that shines brightly today, all over the world, despite the efforts of all sorts of religious fanatics to extinguish it.

Αν πρέπει να μισούμε κάποιον αυτός θα'ναι οι Κυβερνήσεις ελληνικές και τουρκικές και όχι ο απλός λαός.! Η Σμύρνη και η Κωνσταντινούπολη δυστυχώς με κοινή λογική ελληνικές δε ξαναγίνονται γιατί έχουν 3 εκατομμύρια η μία και 12 εκατομμύρια κατοίκους η άλλη..Αυτό που πρέπει να κάνουμε είναι να ΜΗ ξεχάσουμε τις χαμένες αυτές πατρίδες και να διαφυλάξουμε οτιδήποτε ελληνικό υπάρχει σήμερα εκεί.Πατριαρχείο Εκκλησίες κ.α
