He's raising awareness so that he can bring good out of this activity. But really, I've seen many interviews with him and he can't help himself. He needs to climb. He says it's as important to him as eating and drinking. I respect him for using his influence on the media to draw attention to an important issue. Some celebrities try to do that and I think it's a good thing. It's impossible to gain citywide fame in New York in one day unless you kill the Pope or something.
