Likewise, i don't like how the credit for a good action is taken away from Christians that God/holy spirit is working through them. In fact, I'd be upset if I was told that my good action was caused by God rather than through my goodness.

It just seems that Christians have created this personification of evil, similar to a Greek God in that Satan is the God of Evil, who bring about evil in order to understand it. But Christians seem as if they want to remove to some extent their responsibility from the action. By saying Satan works inside of us and puts these temptations in us, we're making out as if these desires are not our own. However, the truth is it is our human nature, we are as a species naturally curious and selfish, as

@gradond ---He is real and lives in a human body. he takes posession of their bodies and uses that person to do his work here on earth, century after century. It's kind of difficult to grab a hold of, but he does exist. His greatest weapon against you is that you believe he does not exist. Logically speaking - If good exists than so does evil, without evil there would be no good and vice versa. Just think about it logically and you will see that it is the truth.

@ownage2nubs "Hi :). I was just wondering, are you a Christian? I see you've been studying up on the Augustinian theodicy by the way." It's Ireanean Theodicy actually :)

I can't believe people dislike this

love this song :)

@gradond ok then but answer this you cant see God or Satan, real or not thats true but its the same for wind you know its there but you cant see it meaning there is no way to prove that wind exists. but everyone know that it does thats the same with christians we know God is there we know that he loves us but we cant prove to others that he's there without showing them his love.

Love the song - Satan is mythical bollocks, with no more intellectual rationality than the Greek Gods. Evil is not induced by Satan, it is rather a lack of goodness that has come about because if there was no evil there would be no distinction between heaven and earth.

@gradond Hi :). I was just wondering, are you a Christian? I see you've been studying up on the Augustinian theodicy by the way. But there is evidence for Satan, and that comes from personal experience. I'm not intellectually deficit, and I believe in Satan. His biggest deception is that he doesn't exist. Sorry for the short, abrupt sentences by the way :). Can you please expand on what you mean by the heaven and earth bit? I don't understand what you mean because it's not very clear to me :).

@ownage2nubs I'm a deist hu likes respondin frm a rational perspective whilst occasionaly adpting a Xian position 4 da sake of argument. It seems 2 me tht Satan is nothin mor thn christians placin 2 much literal meanin 2 da Adam & Eve story & tryin 2 personify evil and temptation as a person and ignorin da true fact tht it is our inner imperfections, which any creator beset upon us.
gradond 1 year ago
@gradond Okay, well it's good to hear your perspective :). However, I do hold the opinion that Satan does indeed, exist. Christians don't ignore our inner imperfections though; they are explemplified, it states in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God". Coming from a Christian viewpoint, the creator did not beset sin upon us either, for when Adam and Eve were created, they were created perfectly, and without the blemish of sin :).

@ownage2nubs - I still think Satan seems like christians simply trying to anthropomorphize/personify evil. It all sounds fairly mythical, and as you can't see Satan - i'm as sceptical as I would be if someone told me there was an invisible mouse on the moon is responsible for all the bad weather in the world.
gradond 1 year ago
@gradond Yeah, I can understand the skepticism, but you being a Deist, you have a believe in God, if someone was to say to you that you believing in God makes them skeptical as if someone told them there was an invisible mouse on the moon, who is responsible for all the bad weather in the world, what would you say back to them? Although your come back to this would probably be 'Well, there is evidence of a creator, and not Satan...' etc hehe :D.

@gradond But note this, not all Christians believe in Satan, and the ones that do believe in him because of what scripture says about Satan. In the Bible, he's referred to as an actual 'being', and not simply a personification of evil. If you Google 'Satan exists', and click on the first website that comes up from the Google search, you'll find plenty of scriptual evidence that refers to Satan in that way :).
