These are my thoughts on the sanitization of war. Someone else does the killing in your name.
Are we so sure of ourselves here.

Some research reveals that the Taliban are quite popular in their homeland.

Who are we kiling and why.

  • The oil pipeline that goes through Afghanistan might have something to do with oil. A pipeline that made companies like Enron try to do business with the Taliban so oil could be moved through Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and through Pakistan. And it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the pipeline deal was done in December 2002. Just a year or so after troops were in.

  • zabrakk. first did you watch improbable collapse. Do you believe that Afghan terrorists brought down those three towers?

Second. I am not saying that there will be Peace in Afghanistan once the troops leave, but we have to accept that only the Afghani people have the right to determine their own future, and fight their own battles.

What can a foreign army, occupying their land hope to achieve. Control.

  • the coward Mujahid army took on the the soviets and won.

Afghanistan has the right and the responsibility to sort out its own political destiny.

My argument is that the Taliban is seen as a heroic force by a majority of rural Afghanistan. I wouldn't want to live under a theocracy, but it works in Bhutan. My question is how many people should the US and Canadian forces kill. Would 5 million do it.? 30 million.?

Maybe we should wait for the Afghan people to ask for what THEY want.

  • would americans tell afghanis to piss off if they came to america to set america free?

  • If we were actually there for protection of a people, that would be one thing. We are there for control & military strategy. The politicians & their propoganda corporate media lie, filthy, obscene lies! They kill thousands with the stroke of their pens. WE the masses, are their pawns.

    I wouldn't wanna kill anybody.

Let's pack off some of these politician's families to war. Leaders would be whistling a different tune then!

    Get out of the mid-east!

    Boycott China Olympics!

    Thx Bob.

  • he sounds like a creepy sex maniac

  • @sparkybob1023 the majority of Afghanistan lives in fear under the Taliban, their is no majority of rural Afghanistan that considers them heroic. You can't possibly understand what its like unless you visit it yourself. Try meeting with the Taliban, im sure they would be happy to hear your theory. Since when do coalition forces target civilians? such a stereotypical canadian comment.

  • @miketheday How about we ban the Olympics period! CUZ THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH EVERY MOTHAFUCKIN' COUNTRY!

  • Just a little research.

Environics poll taken in 2007 to find out what Afghans are thinking. This was just one of the questions.

What is your overall opinion of the Taliban? Is it: National (%)

    Very positive 3

    Somewhat positive 11

    Somewhat negative 20

    Very negative 53

    Neither positive/negative 10

    Don't know/No answer 2

  • You wrote ''only the Afghani people have the right to determine their own future'' I don't think that's right. I think when thing like women treated like piece of crap and people that are different like gay get hanged because they are different.I think that someone should help them. And we never occupy their land first the american helped the northen alliance which is compose by afghan people beat the taliban and then the coalition helped the new governement keep security.

  • True words, my friend. 5*

    I don't wanna kill anybody.
