U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson confronted by Tea Party with L.O.S.T., S.O.P.A & C.I.S.P.A.

Twenty seven Republican senators sent a letter to Senator Harry Reid last week opposing ratification of the United Nations Law of the Sea Treaty, known as LOST. Signers of the letter included Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss, but missing from the list was Senator Johnny Isakson.

Isakson sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by recently defeated Senator Richard Lugar, which last week heard testimony from treaty proponents Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta and Senator John Kerry. President Obama wants the treaty ratified, as it would provide the UN taxes to continue its globalist agenda. The decades old treaty was opposed by President Reagan.

LOST would give the United Nations sweeping control over all oceans and seas -- military, economic, and environmental - of all resources of nearly three-quarters of the surface of our planet, including marine navigation and fly over. LOST requires a royalty to the UN [read: taxes] on oil and minerals found off the American coast.

Because Senator Isakson refused to sign the letter opposing LOST, the Valdosta Tea Party plans to protest Senator Isakson's arrival at a luncheon on Wednesday at the Rainwater Conference Center. "The Law of the Sea Treaty would surrender American sovereignty to an international tribunal with the power to issue binding rules for Americans, even regulations based on discredited global warming propaganda. Our tea party has waged a campaign against United Nations Agenda 21 and we see LOST as one more dangerous scheme by the UN" said Diane Cox, a founder of the Valdosta Tea Party. Cox said "Johnny Isakson betrayed us with his vote to ratify the UN's START treaty in 2010, and we do not trust him. Senator Saxby Chambliss did not support the START treaty, and we thanked him for that. Senator Isakson is up for re-election in 2016, and if he doesn't begin to represent his constituents instead of the lobbyists in Washington, he will be defeated just like his mentor on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- Richard Lugar."

I admire Johnny for getting out of his car to talk to the Tea Party protestors; he could have drove by and attended his chamber of commerce function and not met with the over 50 protesting, but he didn't. Some half-informed bozo with a $200 tv camera yelling questions while the Senator is having a conversation with someone else is just the kind of "journalism" he'd slam if it was some MSM reporter doing the same thing. I've known the Senator many years; I worked for an Atlanta TV news department for more than 30 years. He was always willing to answer any question we put to him. What did you expect him to do, reach in his wallet and pull out 16 one-trillion dollar bills.
