GOP SWIFT BOAT AD PRACTICES VOTER SUPPRESSION BY ENCOURAGING LATINOS NOT TO VOTE IN NEVADA

Have you seen this stupid , shameless blatant ad by a right wing swift boat group called " 'Latinos For Reform", encouraging Latinos not to vote in Nevada ? This voter suppression ad is headed by Robert De Posada, a conservative political analyst who has worked for the RNC . In the ad , it claims and encourages Latinos "not to vote" to hold congress accountable for inaction on immigration reform . Then the ad shows nothing but Democratic senators . What the ad fails to note that it has been Senate Republicans who have promised to filibuster any White House effort to bring about immigration reform. It's not the first time we've heard from this swift boat right wing group. In an effort to exploit distrust between the Latino and African American communities during the 2008 presidential campaign, '" Latinos For Reform" ran ads accusing Barack Obama of putting the interest of African Americans before Latinos and the interest of the African continent ahead of nations of Latin America. Which is ironic since Obama just signed an executive order to improve Hispanic children's educational opportunities. These types of dirty politics are nothing new with these Republican supported swift boat ads, divide and conquer Southern strategy by the GOP, and other forms of voter suppression . They have tried Photo ID laws, Purging voter rolls, Ex-Felon disenfranchisement, Partisan election administration, Inequality in Election Day resources, Caging lists, and Jim Crow laws . The GOP has done voter suppression in New Mexico, in which the ACLU filed a lawsuit against a Republican state lawmaker who released confidential information while making claims of vote fraud, a private investigator hired by a prominent Republican attorney, and as yet unnamed members of the state party. The lawsuit alleges that key members of the Republican Party of New Mexico violated the privacy rights of voters and illegally interfered with their right to vote. Then there is the 2002 New Hampshire Senate election phone jamming scandal and the 2006 Virginia Senate election . During the United States Senate election in Virginia, 2006, Secretary of the Virginia State Board of Elections Jean Jensen concluded that incidents of voter suppression appeared widespread and deliberate. Documented incidents of voter suppression include: Democratic voters receiving calls incorrectly informing them voting will lead to arrest. Widespread calls fraudulently claiming to be "Democratic Senate candidate Jim Webb Volunteers" .Falsely telling voters their voting location had changed. Fliers paid for by the Republican Party, stating "SKIP THIS ELECTION" that allegedly attempted to suppress African-American turnout. The FBI has since launched an investigation into the suppression attempts . In Montana, on October 5, 2008 the Republican Lt. Governor of Montana, John Bohlinger, accused the Montana Republican Party of vote caging to purge 6,000 voters from three counties which trend Democratic. These purges included decorated war veterans and active duty soldiers . The list just goes on .

However i did hear about voter fraud on behalf of the democrats (not that republicans aren't guilty of the same thing). our vote doesn't mean a damn thing and we don't have a choice they just want you to think you have one. Obama and repulicans are both for war, bailouts, individual mandates, the patriot act, secret prisons, taxes on health insurance plans, making deals with big corporations etc. etc. Is that a choice?
