Have you ever dreamed of riding off into the sunset cowboy style? Since 1999, Cave Creek Trail Rides has allowed guests to experience the old west on horseback. A trail ride on a mountain horse allows you to step back in Arizona history 150 years when mining and ranching were a way of life in Cave Creek, Phoenix and Scottsdale. In the foothills north of Phoenix sits the 2,922-acre Cave Creek Regional Park in the upper Sonoran Desert. Ranging in elevation from 2,000 to 3,060 feet, this desert oasis provides the equestrian with majestic views. Trails meander through backcountry passes and mines, providing the illusion of being miles away from civilization. The Cave Creek Recreation Area is located on 32nd Street North off the Carefree Highway mid-way between Interstate 17 and Scottsdale Road. Cave Creek Trail Rides is located inside the park -- simply follow the horse symbols on the signs.
