In part 2 of my seq24 series, I take a more in-depth look at the core features discussed in part 1: triggering patterns in real-time, and the pattern editor itself. I look at advanced live performance techniques, like queuing and snapshots, as well as MIDI CC automation, overlays, and MIDI recording within the pattern editor.

  • seq24 can send MIDI CC data, but I don't think it has any ability to work with SysEx data.

  • Sorry about the confusion there -- I didn't realise it at the time, but the keyboard options feature was something that was added in the development branch of seq24. There's now a new 0.9.1 version of seq24 that incorporates that feature.

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for this tutorial!. I watched part 1 and 2 and it really helped me get a glimpse of what seq24 could do (when I first opened the software I was a bit lost...). I usually don't watch tutorials for info, because I fond them too slow. But these ones were just the right pace for me

  • hi, Does Seq 24 send SysEx files and data?

  • @pneumanlsd Too bad it only does midi because it seems pretty bulletproof and intuitive.

  • Brilliant tutorials! You explain synthesis really well and the quality of the videos is getting better all the time. The titles and fast recap of part 1 are very helpful in this one! Thanks!

  • @pneumanlsd

hi, also my version don't have the keyboard option, but, in the .seq24rc file, (my is in home dir) you can edit it and put the key you want, but is a little tricky, you find how to do in the documentation...more tricky for me is to use a controller i'm try with launchpad and pure data.

  • 대단해요.

  • thanks alot for this tutorial series :) I was searching a software sequencer that can be used like I use my (good old ;) ) yamaha RM1x on my linux setup - thanks to you, I found both the software AND the tutorial :)

btw, and totally out of subject, I like your username 8^D

  • Thank you for your great videos (:

  • Cool tutorial. I never bothered with seq24 before, but after seeing your tutorials I might give it a go. Thanks!
