This is one of the rare Sesame Street video series that was only out in the 1980s and 1990s. The Sesame Street Start-To-Read Video series will never be release on DVD, but you can probably rent one of the tapes at your local library.

List of Sesame Street Start-To-Read Videos:

Ernie's Big Mess (the only one I rented and burned on DVD)

Don't Cry, Big Bird

Ernie's Little Lie

I Want To Go Home!

I do not own any of this and I am not trying to infringe copyright.

Sesame Street is owned by Sesame Workshop.

  • Do you have the rest of the collection?

  • @Maestrojosh87 Not anymore> I just rented this tape from my library.

  • Conraddork, how do you know the Sesame Street Start-to-Read Video series will never be released on DVD?

  • Because the tapes were never re-released by Sony Wonder and any tap that was from Random House and was re-released from Sony Wonder, it would most likely come out on DVD but for the Start-To-Read series, they won't and there were only 4 VHS tapes

  • But the four Start-To-Read videos could be released on one DVD-how do you know they will never do that?

  • @pastdweller Cause it's so obvious: Sony Wonder never had the rights to re-release them (they re-release most of the tapes from Random House Home Video) and the books aren't in stores anymore.

  • Heh, I like how Big Bird chuckles after he imitates Ernie's laugh. Maybe he thought he did a pretty good Ernie laugh or something XD

  • Is it just me, or was Herry likely carrying his doll in his bag at the beginning?

  • I thought Big Bird was going to bring his teddy bear, Radar, to the party.

  • Herry should have went into the Post Office and Asked if they saw the Bag with his Doll in it.

    "Is this your doll?"

    "NOOOOOOOO!"

  • "No yelling allowed"? You can't just make up your own rules, Oscar; you're not the boss of everyone on Sesame Street!

  • This video greatly reminds me of the Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Videos, probably because they were produced by the same company (Random House Home Video and Praxis Media), except this video predates the Beginner Book Videos by two years.
