I agree with AOsCopyright.. I love my Pre, but I doubt an on-screen keyboard would be usable as the screen is not as big as the iPhone's. You'd be fat-fingering your way into insanity.

no, the physical keyboard is the only keyboard availible for typing at the moment for the palm pre. an OS update might change that soon.

there is a virtual alphanumeric keypad but no qwerty keypad. I don't know if you can text with it.
