@recalcitrist1 It's just difference of custom, rotary valve trumpets are far more common in Europe than in America, but they still play just as well. Piston valves became popular here mostly because that's what Jazz trumpeters preferred. Next you'll start getting upset because one of the trombones plays uses Tuning in Slide rather than the "normal" tuning in the bell section.
